It has been a while since my last post. A lot has happened since then! After my graduation from the University for Professional Education I continued my studies with a master of science programme: Human Media Interaction at the University of Twente (http://hmi.ewi.utwente.nl). Currently I'm doing my master's thesis in hand gesture recognition. Although I literally have my hands full, I managed to find some time to update the M4 website. Sigh... Yes, I moved to a new hosting provider, again. The last free hosting provider with PHP+MySQL support started putting banner ads on the accounts as well. Time for a reliable, bannerless and paid hosting provider including a nice domain name: www.magam.nl! I've also updated the 'Links' section to include the correct urls which have changed in the last months. Sigh... Yes, I moved to a new hosting provider, again. Out with the old in with the new! In my quest for a hosting provider with no forced ads, PHP+MySQL, reasonable file size limit, space and bandwidth, I succeeded! The previous hosting provider forced some kind of 'rollover ads' which were annoying and slowing the site down. Nothing of all that with my new hosting provider. Let's here it for iFastNet! In may I reported on my work in correcting a tool for transfer of recordings on the Xtreme satellite receiver's hard disk to computer decodable MPEG2 files. Well, I'm happy to report that XtremeDisk (the tool) can now get the A/V streams out in such a form in which they can be easily synced by another tool called ProjectX! In the future I've got plans for building XtremeDisk in a object oriented manner from scratch and integrating the ProjectX functionality for syncing the A/V streams. Currently I'm pretty busy, though. Busy with subjects in my master study of Human Machine Interaction. As of the end of july I earned the Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. After 4 years of study at a university of professional education, I graduated the last 3 months at a company in The Netherlands. I succesfully passed the final assessment and was given the Bachelor of Science degree! The last 3 months have been busy, having little free time to tend to my hobbies. But now that the summer holidays have begun, I've loads of free time to continue tinkering on my hobby projects! :-D As of the end of july I earned the Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. After the launch of this site I started modifying a utility which transfers recordings from the Xtreme satellite receiver to PC. The utility produces an MPEG2 file in which the audio is out of sync with the video. My job to correct this! Wish me luck in the jungle of source code! Finally it's there! The second version of the M4 website! With all new sections! After coding the CMS, designing the interface and programming the site, M4 v2 is a fact!
